Zoo Med Repti Calcium with D3, 3oz (Green)

Zoo Med Repti Calcium with D3 is an ultra-fine pure calcium carbonate supplement, free of phosphorus and augmented with vitamin D3. Because it's composed of precipitated calcium carbonate has a unique shape with increased surface area to increase digestibility.

Captive-bred feeder insects are chronically low in calcium, an essential mineral for most animals, including reptiles and amphibians. Calcium is essential to a variety of body functions, including the nervous system, digestive system, bones, and muscles.

Wild reptiles normally get their vitamin D3 by converting the UVB wavelengths in sunlight into vitamin D3 as needed. However, when pet reptiles don't have access to sunlight or appropriate UVB lighting, vitamin D3 supplements are necessary to keep them alive. When reptiles don't get enough vitamin D3, they begin to suffer from a variety of health problems, including the notorious metabolic bone disease (MBD).

By lightly dusting feeder insects with calcium powder before feeding time, you help keep your reptile in optimum health!

Instructions for Use:

Insectivores and Omnivores: Place feeder insects in a plastic bag along with Repti Calcium and shake to dust them with the powder.

Herbivores: Add approximately 1/2 teaspoon Repti Calcium to food for every 5 oz (142 g) of body weight on a weekly basis.
