Many believe reptiles can't see red light, but this is a misconception. Nocturnal reptiles don't need extra light as they see well in darkness, while diurnal reptiles may experience disrupted sleep due to nighttime lighting. This can also interfere with their natural circadian rhythms.
Additionally, blue light can be detrimental to animal eyesight and disrupt their biological clocks.
If your reptile requires a heat source at night due to low temperatures, consider opting for the Zoo Med Repti Basking Spot or the Zoo Med Ceramic Infrared Heat Emitter instead of this lighting kit.
To ensure optimal conditions, use the Zoo Med ReptiTemp Digital Infrared Thermometer to check the basking area temperature for your pet’s specific requirements.
