- Caridina Taiwanese Bee Shrimp, also known as Taiwanese Bee Shrimp or simply Bee Shrimp, are a popular and visually striking species of freshwater shrimp in the aquarium hobby. These shrimp are known for their vibrant colors and patterns, which can vary widely among different strains
- Taiwanese Bee Shrimp require stable and specific water conditions. They thrive in slightly acidic to neutral water with a pH range of 6.2 to 7.5. The water temperature should be maintained between 68°F and 78°F (20°C to 25°C). They are sensitive to changes in water parameters, so regular monitoring is essential.
- A well-planted aquarium with a good filter is ideal. Taiwanese Bee Shrimp appreciate a tank with plenty of hiding spots and surfaces like driftwood and rocks, which help them feel secure and provide surfaces for biofilm growth, which they graze on.
- Taiwanese Bee Shrimp are primarily algae grazers, but they also need additional foods to thrive. High-quality shrimp pellets, algae wafers, and blanched vegetables like zucchini or spinach can supplement their diet. It's important to provide a varied diet to ensure they get all necessary nutrients.
- These shrimp are generally peaceful and can coexist with other peaceful species in a well-maintained tank. However, they can be preyed upon by larger or more aggressive fish. Suitable tank mates include small fish, other shrimp species, and peaceful invertebrates.
- Breeding Taiwanese Bee Shrimp in captivity is possible and often achieved by hobbyists. The female carries eggs under her tail, and these eggs develop into tiny, fully-formed shrimp. The offspring are miniature versions of adults and require similar care.
- Sensitivity: They are sensitive to changes in water parameters and pollutants. Consistent water quality and stable conditions are crucial for their health and well-being.
- Live Arrival Guarantee: We guarantee our live stock Live Arrival. Rarely, Dead On Arrival rarely happens due to factors such as adverse weather conditions or challenges in mail handling.
