Seachem Reef Dip | Elemental Iodine Coral Disinfectant

Seachem Reef Dip – Professional Elemental Iodine Coral Disinfectant

Seachem Reef Dip is a specialized disinfectant complex specifically formulated for dipping corals before they are introduced into a new aquarium. By utilizing an elemental iodine complex, Reef Dip effectively targets bacterial, fungal, and protozoan infections while being gentle enough for the most sensitive corals. It is an essential preventative tool for reef hobbyists to ensure that new arrivals do not introduce pests or diseases into an established system.

Advanced Protective Slime Coat & Disinfection

Reef Dip is engineered to provide more than just a standard iodine bath; it includes a protective element to aid in coral recovery.

• Elemental Iodine Complex: Provides a powerful antimicrobial punch against common coral pathogens like Vibrio and "Brown Jelly" disease.

• Protective Slime Coat: Uniquely formulated to provide a protective layer that coats the coral's delicate tissue, shielding it from further irritation during the healing process.

• Safe for All Coral Types: Highly effective and safe for use with small-polyp stony (SPS) corals, large-polyp stony (LPS) corals, and soft corals (octocorals).

• Stress Reduction: Helps to mitigate the stress of shipping and handling by disinfecting damaged areas and preventing secondary infections.

• Rapid Action: A short 5-to-10-minute dip is all that is required to achieve a therapeutic level of disinfection.

FAQ Section: Common Questions

• How do I dose Seachem Reef Dip? Use 5 mL (1 capful) for every 4 L (1 US gallon) of aquarium water in a separate container. Place the coral in the dip for 5 to 10 minutes depending on the severity of the problem or for preventative measures.

• Can I add Reef Dip directly to my aquarium? No. Reef Dip is intended for use only as a separate "dip" or bath. It should never be dosed directly into the display tank, as the concentrated iodine can be harmful to invertebrates and beneficial bacteria in the water column.

• Do I need to rinse the coral after the dip? While it is not strictly necessary, many hobbyists prefer to rinse the coral in a separate container of clean aquarium water before placing it into the display tank to remove any excess dip and loosened debris.
