Flats are yesterday's news. The unpuncturable tyre: Schwalbe Marathon Plus. Size: 40-622 / 28 inch x 1.50 inch with reflective strips (the safest side marking for bicycles are reflective strips on the tyre). The safest bicycle tyre for most uses is the Marathon Plus "flat-less" tyre by Schwalbe. With the SmartGuard insert made of highly elastic special rubber is extra thick. It provides resistance against damage from broken glass and gravel. Here, the SmartGuard takes advantage of the thickness. A retracted tack, e.g. just stays stuck in the rubber without doing any damage. The SmartGuard insert is rolling resistance neutral. The Marathon Plus rolls as easily as a tire without a protective belt.
