MASTERPIECE 41857 Vincent Pro 7/8" Deep Sausalito Heavy Weight and Texture 14 oz Cotton Stretched Canvas 24" x 36"

Product Description This 20x36 is a unique size in the 5:9 Aspect Ratio. Tahoe is 10 oz. raw, 14.6 oz. finished, heavy cotton, sized and triple primed with archival quality acrylic gesso, impervious to paints leaching through and harming the fabric. Tahoe has a heavy body and slightly smoother texture. Suitable for oils, acrylics, and alkyds. For a heavy canvas, it has a medium tooth; easy on your brushes. There is a 5/16" gap between the canvas and frame, eliminating the unwanted lines that occur when the gap is less. We never use finger joints in our wood frames, which often fail under tension and over time - the glue joints give up, and are unsuitable for paintings intended to last for centuries. Patented 3.25" wide heavy duty keyable cross braces allow the canvas frame to be tensioned in the middle, where the tension is needed the most! The Stretcher Bars are slotted in the center to accept the cross braces. Due to our unique design, the cross braces provide maximum rigidity and may be removed, if desired. Both corner keys and brace keys are pre-installed. Stretched using our proprietary MuseumWrap method, producing a drum-tight-stretch, up to 50% tighter than other methods, and with balanced tension across the surface. The corners are uncut and neatly folded, making it possible to remove and restretch the canvas on the same size frame. From the Manufacturer For 50+ years, the passion of the Masterpiece team is building the finest artist canvas in America.  Just touch one of these impressive products and you’ll immediately discern the quality characteristics that separate this canvas from any other. Masterpiece takes pride in using high quality materials, employing unparalleled workmanship, and continually upping the bar on quality. The importance of artists using a quality made canvas cannot be overstressed.  If you use high quality paints and brushes, then don’t waste your resources on an inferior canvas not worthy of your own time, talent, and reputation.Masterpiece canvases are built to last well beyond the artist's lifetime…into the next millennium.  Savvy art buyers and art enthusiasts understand that the value of a painting increases when the materials used to create it are of equal quality to the artwork itself.  Using a well-made canvas is an investment in your own legacy. Why are Masterpiece canvases so good?  It starts with the canvas itself.  Natural fiber canvas materials, like 100% cotton and Belgian Linen, are selected and inspected. A sizing is then applied to the canvas that becomes a barrier between the ultimate primer and the canvas material.  The primer is specifically designed to provide the ultimate surface upon which your paints will join with the canvas, either chemically and/or mechanically, providing a reliable base or ground for your art.The canvas is then mounted onto a state-of-the-art Vincent Pro frame. When frame sizes are 16” or larger, a brace is applied to the frame; for example, a 12x16 has a single brace, and a 16x16 is cross braced in both directions. The braces prevent the stretcher bar frame from bowing-in so the canvas stays tighter….which is a welcome feature when you paint on the canvas, making the surface more responsive to the artist’s touch. And the canvas stays tight after it’s painted. To increase the tension further, press-in the corner keys and the brace keys further into the slots, which adds tension in the corners and the middle of the canvas, where the tension is needed the most!Vincent Pro canvas is MuseumWrapped, which is Masterpiece’s proprietary stretching technique that achieves: a drum-tight stretch, balanced tension across the canvas surface, neatly folded un-cut corners, and paintable edges. It’s the absolute best way to stretch a canvas. When your art matters, choose Vincent Pro…a truly professional canvas in every way!
