Hop Infusion Sphere - Hop Infuser Ball - 11cm for 100g Hops Pellets

The Hop Sphere is a stainless steel mesh sphere that you can put hop pellets and lower them into your boil or into your beer for dry hopping.

The 11cm sphere is suitable for up to 100g of hop pellets.  We also have a 9cm hop sphere which is suitable for up to 50g of hop pellets

Acting just like a teabag, the hop sphere holds the hops in place and allows the hops to circulate in the sphere so that you get a good infusion of flavours from the hops.

The weight of the hop sphere also holds the hops below the surface to make sure they get full contact with the beer.

A small chain allows you to hook it over the edge of the fermenter / boiler. Or you can just drop in the hop sphere and it will bob around under the surface infusing the beer with the hops.

The hop sphere opens into 2 halves and is held closed by a pin and latch.

Using the Hop sphere , means you can get more beer out once the fermentation is complete, as hop pellets break up and tend to create a thick layer at the bottom of the fermenter holding many pints of beer.  Using the Hop sphere means you can get more beer out of the fermenter and better infusion.

Normal straining bags and hop tubes allow the hops to capture CO2 bubbles and just float to the surface of the beer, meaning they aren't in contact with the beer so impart much less flavour.

The hop sphere can be reused many many times.  Just pop them in the dishwasher to be cleaned.
