Explore Scientific 68° Series Argon-Purged Waterproof extreme wide field eyepieces are optimized to produce high contrast, high resolution, and superior flat field characteristics using advanced computer design, combinations of low dispersion and high refractive index optical glasses, and durable multilayer deposition coatings. Experience a full-immersion view with long eye-relief and a 68° apparent field. The eyepieces include a removable and foldable soft silicone rubber eyecup for observer comfort.
Protection from the Outdoors: The eyepiece body is Argon-purged, ensuring internal elements remain pristine. Argon atoms are larger and more inert than Nitrogen, preventing leaks, internal fogging, and chemical reactions, thus extending longevity and preventing fungus growth between lens elements. Each eyepiece is tested in one meter of water for 30 minutes to ensure a perfect seal, making it easy to clean without solution migrating between elements.
