Hygrophila Pinnatifida, ooh la la!
This Indian native is full of surprises. A kaleidoscope of colors - from brown to purple, red to green, yellow to - will show up in its leaves, depending on its environment. High lighting, Co2 and fertilization offer optimal care for this picky plant.
Grow this versatile plant submerged or out of water - in soil or not - and it'll take root. High lighting keeps it short and compact with plenty of lateral shoots to cut and replant. Cutting horizontally can work, but growth takes longer.
Growing requirements:
- 65-80 Degrees Fahrenheit
- Ph 6-7.5
- Medium to High light intensity
- Grows rate: Moderate
- Co2 recommended for best color
- Propagation: Cut stem, new growth, or lateral shoots
As I like to keep real ecosystems in my aquariums, there's always the possibility of harmless snail or dwarf shrimp hitchhikers!
