Beaded Bell - Small Chunky Bird Toy

The Beaded Bell is a snappy, satisfying, and safe alternative to traditional bell toys—without the metal hazards! Designed to provide that same jingly playfulness birds love, this toy uses rows of natural pine beads that "snap" when broken, giving your bird the auditory* and tactile feedback they crave.

Its flexible “legs” can wrap around cage bars or perches for dynamic play placement, and once the beads have all been crunched, the structure can be refilled with parts from your stash of used toy components. This is the perfect toy for bead lovers and curious birds alike!

Inspired by a favorite toy from a BirdTricks team member's flock, this version eliminates unsafe plastics and replaces them with safe, natural materials your bird can safely enjoy. This comes in small, medium, and large sizes!

*This toy has no metal in it, but the noise of the beads rattling together provides a similar auditory sensation while being a safe alternative to traditional bell toys.

Help Your Bird Learn to Play

Not all birds naturally know how to play with toys—some need a little encouragement. If your bird seems unsure or even scared of toys, don’t worry. Once they understand what toys are for, their instincts will take over! Use these resources to help your bird build confidence and curiosity with new toys:

Safety Reminder

Always supervise playtime with any bird toy. While we use the safest materials possible, no toy is 100% risk-free. Monitoring ensures the benefits of mental stimulation and beak exercise outweigh potential hazards. Be sure to also remove a toy from the environment if your bird does not play with it as intended, or if it destroyed to a point where what's left becomes hazardous.
