These StaVin's Oak Beans (cubes) are made from high quality white oak from Minnesota. They have been seasoned for 3 years, and then fire toasted by hand. Oak cubes impart complex flavor and aroma profiles to wine, rivaling those of old favorite barrels. The beans, with their barrel-like gradation of color, provide a slow, controlled extraction.
A note on the toast levels: medium is the lightest, heavy toast is the darkest, and house toast is between the two.
Use 2 1/2 oz for 5 gallons of wine.
