With our roomiest toe box, you’ll have plenty of room for your toes to move freely, with space through the midfoot and zero drop so you can move naturally. Our thoughts:
The Altra Men's Lone Peak 8 is a trail running shoe for hiking and running in a wide range of conditions. It is a zero-drop shoe with a wide toe box that allows your toes to splay out and relax. The Altra Lone Peak 8 also has a breathable and protective upper with suitable traction underneath.
Pros

- Deep 5mm lugs for traction
- Roomy toe box
- Excellent traction
Things to consider:
- On the heavier side versus some alternatives
- Not as durable as heavier hikers
- Zero drop is primarily for movement, not ideal for standing still for extended periods
- The Maxtrac outsole, while excellent in terms of its durability and traction, isn't made by Vibram.
