The Hawx Magna 120 S will be a good choice of boot for the advanced skier with high volume feet that wants to ensure good power transmission to their skis but keep a level of comfort during the day.

Not only can the Hawx Magna 120 S be spot treated or shell molded in a boot oven, but the option to match the cuff angle to skier leg shaft and boot sole canting means the boot can be truly married to the individual foot, ankle, knee, and hip. The Mimic Platinum liner included with the Hawx Magna 120 S is the current apex of Atomic liner technology. Mimic material throughout the liner can be heat molded and reshaped to match the bumps and lumps of different feet, and the Power Ankle Lock material resists breakdown and pack out over time.

Things to consider:

While there are lots of ways for your bootfitter to make your boots bigger, it’s not quite as easy to make a big boot smaller. Because of this we recommend the Hawx Magna 120 S only for wider feet. Those folks with low to average volume feet will find the boot too roomy, which can cause a lack of control when skiing.

Fit & sizing considerations:

As already mentioned, the Hawx Magna 120 S is a 102 millimeter, high volume boot. While very generous and comfortable in the toe and forefoot, Atomic does a good job of keeping the heel and instep close fitting without being too tight. The ankle and heel in particular have great hold, especially when compared to other boots in the high volume category.
